(Ages 18 & up) Whether you want to appreciate Louis Armstrong or John Coltrane better, or wrap your head around what is happening in the works of Duke Ellington—understanding jazz leads to a wealth of musical enjoyment! Join pianist, composer, and jazz educator Quentin Walston in a two-part breakdown of America’s unique music. Each class includes musical examples played by Quentin at the piano, as well as engaging biographical and musical analysis of famous composers and styles of the jazz genre. Prior music study not needed to participate.
