The Main Street Chamber Orchestra was founded in Berryville, VA to make classical music a relevant part of life for everyone in our community and to use the power of classical music to illuminate our shared humanity.
Wolf Tales features the music of Peter & The Wolf written by Sergei Prokofiev in 1936. The narrator tells a children’s story, which the orchestra illustrates by using different instruments to play a “theme” that represents each character in the story.
In addition, the MSCO bassist performs the very engaging, “B B Wolf” (Big, Bad Wolf) by John Deak, soprano Mariana Zoeter sings two art songs about wolfs, and the pianist plays and sings Duran Duran’s hit, “Hungry Like a Wolf”. A “howling” good time for the entire family!
