Alfred Yun is an in-demand pianist who has performed across the globe from South Korea to Boston and Washington DC. He has had the fortune of performing at festivals and venues like An Die Musik, Mr. Henry’s, St. Vincent, KORUS Festival, Lake Anne Jazz Festival, and Jazz In the Country. You can also find him playing at restaurants, wineries, and vineyards in the DMV area. Alfred Yun’s music is always exciting and groovy. A fan of his trio once said, “it’s jazz with a kind of punk rock aesthetic!” Alfred Yun brings the same passion and energy to ballads, distilling the excitement into grace and warmth.

In this concert, Alfred Yun will be performing compositions by Thelonious Monk. Undoubtedly, Monk is one of the greatest pianists in jazz history. Having played nearly all of Monk’s compositions in public, Alfred Yun will bring his love for Monk and deep experience with his repertoire to Franklin Parks Arts Center.
